Purpose
MedZen searches publicly available information about medical practitioners and medical facilities. MedZen is not a medical product and does not provide advice, diagnosis, treatment or emergency assistance.
Local search
The search is running in a local database delivered with the app or loaded by OpenZen on the device. search term, direction, radius, postal number, favourites and search history are not transmitted to OpenZen or an AI provider. please do not enter symptoms, diagnoses, insurance data or medical records.
Location
Location access is voluntary and is only used in advance to determine the location or postal number for the environment search. Manual entry is possible. MedZen does not store location history.
Cards, data sources and updates
iOS uses Apple MapKit; Android uses OpenStreetMap-based maps. card services can obtain technical necessary connection data. the German database is based on OpenStreetMap/Geofabrik and open data of the Federal Clinic-Atlas. updates are loaded as a checked package through HTTPS from the OpenZen infrastructure in Germany; there are no search requests or locations transferred. security protocols can contain IP address, time and requested file.
Local storage, advertising and tracking
Language, favourites and settings remain local and can be removed by deleting the app or app data. MedZen does not contain advertising or marketing tracking. OpenZen does not sell any personal data.
App stores and external actions
Apple and Google process store data in their own responsibility. phone, e-mail, websites, routes and messengers are processed by the selected external application.
Their rights
In the legal framework there are rights to information, correction, deletion, limitation of processing, data transferability, objection and withdrawal of a consent. datenschutz@openzen.info Appeals can be addressed to the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf.

There is no exclusively automated decision with legal effect within the meaning of Art. 22 DSGVO. results are indications and do not replace professional, medical, legal or administrative advice.
