Infrastructure and providers

Connecting to the site involves necessary technical data such as IP address, requested URL, time and browser identification. The website and WordPress data are hosted on self-managed German infrastructure. Security and operational logs may contain connection data used to operate the service and prevent abuse.

The website, directory data and new OpenZen AI services run on self-managed infrastructure in Germany. A self-administered German VPS provides HTTPS access to the Ubuntu server; the internal connection uses Tailscale. DNS is managed through deSEC. The contact mailbox uses Google Gmail.

Data processing

The website currently uses no web analytics or marketing tracking. WordPress technical functions and language selection may use cookies. Public content requires no login. External services are opened through clearly identified links.

When you contact us, your message and contact details are processed to handle the enquiry. The contact mailbox uses Google Gmail, so email communication is not confined to our own German infrastructure. Avoid unnecessary confidential information.

Purpose and legal bases

Secure operation relies on the legitimate interest in a functioning website and preventing abuse (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Depending on the enquiry, contact data is processed for contractual or pre-contractual requests or legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(b) or (f)). Consent, where given, can be withdrawn.

Storage and logs

Retention differs by app, version and recipient. Local app data can be deleted through the app or operating system. Complete documentation of technical log, backup and external-service retention periods is still outstanding. Immediate or universal deletion of all data is not promised.

Your rights

Within the applicable legal framework, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Consent can be withdrawn for the future. External services

Apple and Google process store data under their own responsibility. Maps, address lookup, translation SDKs and websites you open may involve other recipients. Running an OpenZen server does not mean that every function operates without external services.
